Request a Honor Code Training

As part of our outreach efforts, the Honor Code Office is available to facilitate presentations and trainings on a variety of topics.

The Honor Code Office staff are happy to present on any topic and can incorporate elements of each presentation depending on your interests.

The staff is prepared to present to groups of any size, from small office staffs to entire colleges, and to any audience that is part of the BYU community.

Common presentations and trainings include:

  • Addressing Academic Dishonesty: This session provides an overview for faculty on how to address academic dishonesty according to BYU’s policies. This presentation includes information about faculty responsibilities, student rights, standards of evidence, how to move forward when a student disagrees with the decision, and university trends like the use of AI.
  • Honor Code and Honor Code Office Overview: In addition to discussing the mission and goals of the office and how they connect to the CES and BYU missions, this presentation reviews the purpose of the Honor Code and role of the Honor Code Office. Participants will also learn about the entire process from investigation to resolution to rights to appeal outcomes.
  • Responsibilities for addressing issues related to the Honor Code and related university policies: This presentation reviews the Honor Code and the role each member of the campus community has in regard to upholding the principles and expectations. The presentation includes how to discuss Dress and Grooming standards, responsibilities for reporting, and what it means to “encourage others”.
